MainStreet Mystery is an immersive dining and entertainment venue that combines the thrill of escape rooms with the intrigue of a murder mystery dinner show. This concept was the result of a speculative design project, which tasked me and my classmates to completely redesign a historic building in Andover. The result is one of my personal favorite projects to date. Set in a vintage, 1920s-inspired atmosphere, the restaurant offers a dynamic experience where guests can solve puzzles, uncover secrets, and enjoy delicious food. The experience is designed to transport visitors back to the Roaring 20s, providing both an exciting escape room challenge and a memorable dinner experience filled with mystery, suspense, and interactive drama. My favorite part about this project was that I got to flex my video editing skills, which you can see below. I've always wanted to try an escape room, but I've never had the chance because I live in a small town with little to do. Like Andover, my town is also very historic and has many secrets of its own. This goes to show how our background and where we are raised can shape our creativity.
Here is a mock-up of how the actual space could be transformed for this concept.
